The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) said that Trump's tax hike would drag down GDP by 0.2-0.6%.

Mr. Kriangkrai Thienukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries and Chairman of the FTI, said that the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB) sees that the Thai economy faces several factors that could cause GDP in 2025 to be lower than the original estimate of 2.4-2.9%. Even after including some impacts from the import tax hike from the United States, there is still uncertainty about the size and scope of the tax measures to be announced tonight (US time), which could have an additional impact on GDP by 0.2-0.6%.
